Press Conference
Karachi: 4th March 2013
Respected Journalists
First of all we are thankful to you for coming to attend this Press Conference. We begin with a prayer for the people martyred in the Abbas Town tragedy and for the speedy recovery of the injured. The entire nation prays Almighty Allah to give exalted position to the martyrs in the Heaven. May Allah give courage and patience to the grieving family members!
Respected Journalists
We are all aware of the details of the worst kind of terrorism that struck in Abbas Town area of Karachi the other day. According to the reports, 48 people have died while many others have been seriously injured. We express our gratitude to the people of Karachi, particularly transport organizations, traders, industrialists, shopkeepers and others for observing a day of peaceful mourning on the appeal of the MQM. They suspended their social, business and educational activities and organized gatherings for the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Respected Journalists
World fail us in condemning the naked terrorism that took place in Abbas Town. Even small children became victim of the brutal terror attack. What is tragic is that this is not the first incident of its kind and apparently not the last either. It appears that the state and its institutions do not have the will or solid line of action to stop such incidents from occurring in the future.
People of the country also know that two similar incidents had occurred in Quetta but the bloodthirsty killers behind those incidents are still roaming freely. This situation has emboldened the terrorists and now they have started the genocide of the Shia community in Karachi after the organized killings of the people of the Hazara community in Quetta.
We believe that the organized manner and callousness with which the Shia and the Sunni are being killed in Karachi is aimed at fuelling the fire of sectarianism. People belonging to the Sunni and Shia schools of thought are firmly united in Karachi on the MQM’s platform under the leadership of Mr Altaf Hussain.
We believe that the Abbas Town tragedy is an attempt to commit genocide of the Mohajir Shia community in Karachi and to divide them on sectarian lines. This is the same as the genocide of the Hazara community in Quetta. New groups and parties are being formed under a conspiracy and these groups have been given the task to spread the poison of sectarianism.
The sectarian organizations created by the establishment, about whom a false show of outlawry has been made on several occasions, are operating with complete freedom. These terrorist outfits are targeting the Shia and the Sunni people who were living in harmony. The world is being given to understand through these organized killings that the Shia and the Sunni people are not willing to live with each other.
Rested Journalists
People of Karachi always play an active role in expressing solidarity with the people that are affected by terrorism in any part of the country. They condemn every incident of terrorism openly and strongly. You would remember that the people of Karachi had made a strong and peaceful protest against the tragic killings of the people of the Hazara community in Quetta. The tragedy that struck in Abbas Town is a national tragedy in which dozens of people belonging to the Mohajir community died and many more were injured. But the indifference and callousness shown by leaders and political parties in other provinces on this tragedy is highly condemnable. We ask the so-called national leaders if the innocent people killed in the Abbas Town tragedy are not Muslim. Are the people becoming victims of terrorism in Karachi not Pakistani? Why is this callousness and criminal silence on the killings of the people of the Mohajir community in Karachi?
Respected Journalists
Mr Altaf Hussain and his followers are expressing solidarity with the grieving families of the martyrs while the defeated political and religious parties, who hold rallies and sit-ins in Karachi whenever every now and then, are nowhere to be seen. Why have they not organized a mourning or protest demonstration? Does it not show that their politics is actuated by their animosity against the MQM and not motivated by the desire to serve the people of Karachi?
These so-called political and religious parties want to create divisions in Karachi along sectarian lines in order to erode the vote bank of the MQM. But we want to make it clear that the people of Karachi and the urban areas of Sindh along with other nationalities are united on the MQM’s platform under the leadership of Mr Altaf Hussain. Their support for the MQM is increasing with each passing day and the Pakhtun Convention held in Islamabad the other day bears this out abundantly. The message of the MQM is spreading rapidly and people from other nationalities are being attracted towards to the MQM for obtaining their rights.
Mr Hussain has pointed out the real objectives of the creation of Pakistan in recent past on several occasions. We are all aware that Pakistan was not meant for the followers of a particular sect only. It was to be the homeland for all Muslims irrespective of their sectarian beliefs. It is unfortunate that certain elements are deviating from the basic idea behind the creation of Pakistan and they are spilling the blood of patriotic Pakistanis on the basis of sectarian differences. This is not only a matter of national shame for us but it is also weakening the foundations of our country.
Respected Journalists
The Abbas Town tragedy has proved once again that the government and the law-enforcing agencies have failed in their basic duty to protect the life and property of the public. They have been unsuccessful in crushing terrorism. There is not a shadow of doubt left now that the people have been left entirely to the mercy of terrorist elements.
Keeping this in view, we are forced to appeal to the people to make arrangement for their security on self-help basis instead of looking to the government agencies. They should form neighbourhood committees and set up of system of vigilance in order to ensure the protection of their lives, properties and places of worship.
We would also appeal to the government through this press conference to take stern action against the barbaric terrorists behind the Abbas Town tragedy and other incidents in the country. We demand that the government should give compensation to the families of the victims and build the shops and flats from government resources.
Respected Journalists
Mr Hussain has asked the Co-ordination Committee that everyone was in a state of grief on the Abbas Town tragedy and hence it would be inappropriate to hold the birthday of his daughter Afza Altaf. He has strictly asked all the office-bearers, workers and wings of the MQM not to hold any function on 5th March in connection with the birthday of his daughter.
Once again would extend our deep sense of grief and sorrow to the bereaved families of the martyrs of Abbas Town tragedy and we pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
We are once again thankful to you for your arrival

Blast in Abbas Town is the worst example of barbaric terrorism: Altaf Hussain
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has deplored the devastating bomb blast in Abbas Town in Karachi and expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the deaths of innocent people. He said that the administration, police and law-enforcing agencies did not take any step to secure the area, although many people had died in an earlier blast in Abbas Town sometime back.
Condemning the blast, Mr Hussain said that the elements which were carrying out such barbaric acts were not even worthy of being called human beings. He asked the government and the law-enforcing agencies as to how long the innocent people would continue to fall victim to the activities of the cold-blooded terrorists. He asked why the citizens have been left to the mercy of the heartless terrorists.
Mr Hussain said that the incidents of terrorism occurring in Karachi were aimed at dividing the Mohajirs along sectarian lines and spilling their blood. He said that the organizations that were created by the establishment were responsible for the bloodshed in Karachi.
Mr Hussain said that a pretence had always been made to outlaw these sectarian organizations, but they were operating freely. He said that the establishment, and its agencies were well aware of the hide-outs of these organizations, but no action was being taken against them. He regretted that the law-enforcing agencies were acting as silent spectators and no one was willing to stop the terrorists.
Mr Hussain expressed his dismay on the fact that the law-enforcing agencies failed to respond in a timely manner after the massive blast in Abbas Town that killed over 25 people and many more got seriously injured.
Mr Hussain extended sympathies to the people affected people and urged on them to take steps for protecting themselves as the government, establishment and their agencies had failed to discharge their duties.
Mr Hussain directed the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation to take every step to provide treatment to the injured and consoling the families of the people who died in the blast. He offered his condolences on the loss of lives in the deadly blast in Abbas Town and prayed Allah to shower His blessings on the souls of the people killed in the incident. Communication & Media Cell: Countries That Do Not Have A Local Government System Cannot Boast Of True Democracy: Altaf Hussain
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad had resigned on the call of his conscience
Address to the 26th Annual Labour Convention of the Labour Division of the MQM -
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the system of local government in any country is the nursery of democracy. All those countries where the system of local government does not exist cannot boast of a genuine democracy. He said that the MQM is a peaceful political party, but its peacefulness must not be construed as its weakness. He was addressing the 26th Convention of the Labour Division of the MQM in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad on the telephone.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM came out of government according to the decision of the Co-ordination Committee, and the MQM ministers also tendered their resignations accordingly. Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad also resigned on the call of his own conscience. Altaf Hussain or the Co-ordination Committee did not ask him to resign.
He said that members of the business community, industrialists and people belonging to different spheres of life demanded that Governor Sindh should be asked to resume his responsibilities because he always worked for solving their problems.
He said that the decision to bring Governor Ebad has been taken for peace and stability in Sindh and there was no vested interest of Altaf Hussain, the MQM or even Governor Ebad in this decision.
Speaking about the failing law and order situation in the country, Mr Hussain said “It is because of our incompetence, shortcomings and policies of vested interests that the raising of national flag and the singing of national anthem has become a crime in Balochistan. People belonging to Hazara community are being murdered in cold-blood.”
“Shrines of saints and schools are being bombed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a matter of routine. Criminal elements are roaming freely in Sindh, and their hide-outs were not being raided. The citizens heaved a sigh of relief only after the rangers conducted operation against criminal elements in different areas of Karachi.”
“There is no area or city in Punjab where serious crimes were not happening.”
Speaking about the differences with the PPP Mr Hussain said, “We extended support to the PPP in every difficult time and left them after four years because of their unending habit of breaking their promises. If we had parted our ways earlier, it would have been difficult for them to continue in office even for four months.”
Mr Hussain said that if the PPP did not believe in the local government system, it should stop raising the slogan that it believed in democracy. He asserted that the local government system was the nursery of democracy, and all those countries where the local government system did not exist could not boast of a genuine democracy.
Mr Hussain said he failed to understand why the PPP was empowering the unelected people instead of the elected representatives of the people. He said the PPP should take heed and serve the people instead of becoming overlords.
Condemning the killings of journalists in the country, Mr Hussain assured the journalists’ community that the MQM was with them. He said that the MQM firmly believed in the complete freedom of press.
Mr Hussain praised the workers of the Labour Division on their 26th Annual Convention and said that he would never disappoint them.

He said that Chaudhry Nisar had led a march from the parliament house to the office of the Election Commission a few days ago and had said that the purpose of the march was to strengthen the commission. He said that instead of trying to influence the commission, Chaudhry Nisar should express confidence on it and extend his co-operation.

The nation should boycott the parties maintaining criminal silence on the killings of the people of the Hazara community
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has asked why all the political and religious parties creating a hue and cry on the Karachi situation were silent on the killings of the people of the Hazara community in Quetta. He asked why they could not see the organized killings of the innocent people belonging to the Hazara community. He asked these questions this while talking to the members of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM in Pakistan.

Communication & Media Cell: Withdrawal Of Cases Registered Against Notorious Killers Of Lyari Gang War Has Dealt A Serious Blow To The MQM-PPP Alliance
The PPP has closed the doors of the prospect of any electoral alliance with the MQM by taking back cases against killers
A joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) was held in Pakistan and London. The decision of the provincial law ministry to withdraw cases registered against notorious terrorists of Lyari gang war involved in the killings of innocent citizens and police personnel was strongly condemned in the meeting. It was said in the meeting that the MQM had entered into an alliance with the PPP for the progress and prosperity of the people of Sindh and for promoting unity among the permanent residents of Sindh. Despite this the PPP leaders continued to openly support the notorious terrorists in their enmity towards the MQM.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the brutal terrorists of the Peoples Amn Committee kidnapped the Urdu-speaking citizens from ascertaining their identities and taking them out of public transport buses. They were taken to different areas of Lyari where they were subjected to inhuman physical torture. Their bodies were hacked into pieces which were thrown in different parts of the city.
The notorious terrorists of the Lyari gang war are involved in killing of innocent citizens, police officers, attacking police stations and police mobiles, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other serious crimes.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the withdrawal of cases registered against brutal killers clearly “forces us to believe that the killers of Lyari gang war enjoy full support of the government. The PPP has itself closed the doors of the prospect of any future electoral alliance with the MQM by taking back the cases.”
The Co-ordination Committee said that nothing was finalized as yet about any electoral alliance with the PPP or any other political party but the PPP had betrayed its intentions by withdrawing cases against the terrorists. It dealt that the withdrawal of cases had dealt a serious blow to the MQM-PPP alliance.
It was decided in the meeting that the MQM would contest the general elections on its own.

Communication & Media Cell: MQM Wants To Bring A Revolution That Will Empower 180 Million People Of Pakistan: Altaf Hussain
Time has come to abolish feudal estates from the country
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM wants to bring a revolution that will empower 180 million people of Pakistan, and the rule of a few families would end. “Time has come to end the feudal estates because if these feudal estates are not wound up now, they would finish the remaining Pakistan also.”
He was speaking to a gathering of MQM workers and office-bearers in the Punjab House on the occasion of the announcement of the organizational setup of the MQM Central Punjab. Members of the Co-ordination Committee and Central Executive Committee were also present on the occasion.
Mr Hussain said that the Punjab has been divided into communities and feudal estates. “Apparently the people of Pakistan are free, but if we make an objective analysis, we come to know that barring a few families, everyone in Pakistan is living a life of subjugation.”
“Conspiracies started in 1947 during the lifetime of the Quaid-i-Azam. I still have a firm belief that the Quaid-i-Azam was murdered in 1948 under a dark conspiracy. After this, Liaquat Ali Khan, the first prime minister and the trusted hand of the Quaid-i-Azam was killed in broad daylight in a public meeting in Rawalpindi.”
“After the assassination of Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan fell into the hands of thieves and robbers who took over power and subjugated the people of Pakistan. The dream of Allama Iqbal turned sour.”
“People of Punjab are compelled to vote for the privileged class. People of the poor and middle classes are not in a position to challenge the ruling class and get their own candidates elected. Those who dare to stand up are persecuted and implicated in false cases.”
Mr Hussain told the audience that they would have to pledge that they would refuse to live the life of slaves. “You have to save the country that was made by your forefathers and put it on the path of progress and prosperity.”
“This is a difficult work, but it can be achieved with courage and determination. I started from the University of Karachi, and today I have millions of followers in Pakistan.”
Mr Hussain said that the people of Pakistan were suffering greatly because of inflated, unemployment and shortage of gas and electricity. “People are forced to commit suicide because of oppressive poverty, and they are even selling their children. If we want to break free, we must not run after the tested people.”
“When the MQM started its work in the Punjab, and people were being attracted towards it; conspiracies started in order to keep the MQM away. “However, the path of the MQM cannot be impeded now by conspiracies. Time is near when practical efforts for bringing the revolution would start from the Punjab itself.”
Mr Hussain said that he did not need anything for himself. “I only want the welfare of the people of Pakistan.”
“There are better schools for the children of the rich while there are separate schools for the children of the poor. We want to remove this difference. We will establish a uniform system of education so that the children of the poor could also hope to get better education on merit.”
“There are modern hospitals with latest healthcare facilities for the rich while the poor have to go to government hospitals that are in deplorable conditions. If the MQM became successful in its endeavour to bring a revolution in the country, it would convert all the big landed estates in hospitals and schools. The looted wealth would be deposited in the national exchequer.”
“Stern punishments would be given to people involved in corruption. A just and equitable system would be implemented that would give justice to the poor.”
In the end Mr Hussain asked the workers and office-bearers to get ready for a historic public meeting at the Minar-i-Pakistan. He asked the newly-elected office-bearers of the Central Punjab to work with honesty.

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the long march being held in Islamabad on 14th January is not aimed at postponing general elections or derailing the democratic process. “This march is being organized to save Pakistan and for bringing reforms in the political system under the constitution. This march is for making Pakistan strong and prosperous.”
“Our march is not for changing the government. We want to change the system”
Welcoming the head of Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran at Nine Zero Mr Hussain said that the two parties speaking for the poor and oppressed people of the country have joined hands for bringing a revolution in the country. “This has given hope to the farmers, peasants, and all of the poor people groaning under the yoke of oppression. The parliament of the people of Pakistan would take a decision on 14th January in Islamabad as to what type of system do they want in Pakistan. The journey of revolution has started and it will end after reaching its destination.”
Mr Hussain said, “The MQM has been making relentless struggle for the past 33 years against the rotten feudal system. It is the only political party in the country that sent educated, able and honest people belonging to the poor and middle class segments of the population to the assemblies.”
“It was my strong desire to send educated and able people from Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the elected houses but conspiracies were hatched to stop the revolutionary message of the MQM from spreading in these provinces, particularly in Punjab.”
Mr Hussain asked the armed forces of Pakistan that they had imposed martial laws in this country but they should now support the wave of revolution sweeping across the country for saving Pakistan instead of creating hindrances in its path.
Mr Hussain asked the Chief Election Commissioner if he has the power to disqualify those who have looted and plundered national wealth, those who got huge loans written-off and those who have piled up enormous wealth by means of ill-gotten money. “If you can do this, we are with you; otherwise the parliament of the people assembling in Islamabad on 14th January would take a decision.”
Mr Hussain condemned the Punjab government for taking back the security of Dr Tahirul Qadri and said that security should be restored immediately.
He appealed to all the political and religious parties to become a part of the Journey for Revolution. “Poor people of the country have given enough blood for saving Pakistan and eliminating corruption. Time has come to hold the looters and plunderers of national exchequer to account.”
He said that the life of people has become miserable due to load-shedding, shortage CNG, and unemployment. “Those who buy election tickets in return for millions of rupees cannot solve problems of the people. Only those can solve the problems of the people who have suffered themselves. Those who are born with a silver spoon in their mouths cannot even imagine the problems being faced by the poor”
He said that there is a monopoly of a handful of families on the political power in the country. These people are always in power. “We want to change the system and empower the poor people of Pakistan instead of changing the government.”
Mr Hussain appealed to all the people who want to bring a change in the country and want justice to join the long march in Islamabad on 14th January. He also appealed to the writers and intellectuals to support the revolutionary struggle.
Mr Hussain thanked the print and electronic media for giving coverage to the Journey for Revolution in Pakistan.
He appealed to the people to donate generously for meeting the expenses of the long march.
He praised the MQM workers, office-bearers and the Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan for organizing a Big programme in a short interval of time.
He congratulated the nation on embarking upon a journey to bring a real change in Pakistan at the onset of the new year.

Communication & Media Cell: MQM Co-Ordination Committee Decides To Take Part In The Long March On 14th January In Islamabad
Altaf Hussain endorses the decision of the Co-ordination Committee
A joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) was held in London and Pakistan. The meeting discussed in detail the invitation extended by the Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran for participating in its long march being held in Islamabad on 14th January for introducing revolutionary reforms in the electoral system of the country and for eliminating the feudal system and corruption from the country. This was stated by the Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar in a press briefing at Nine Zero.
Dr Sattar said, “After discussing all aspects in detail the Co-ordination Committee decided to take active part in the long march being held in Islamabad on 14thJanuary for abolishing the decaying feudal system, eliminating corruption and use of money in politics, restoring the rights of the people belonging to the poor and middle classes in the politics of the country and establishing a just and equitable system in the country. The meeting decided that hundreds of thousands of the MQM workers would take part in the long march along with Minhaj-ul-Quran for these noble objectives.”
Mr Altaf Hussain has endorsed the decision of the Co-ordination Committee and appealed to the MQM workers and haq parast people to participate in the long march on the 14th January in Islamabad.
Dr Sattar said that Mr Altaf Hussain has always stated that he wants to change the outmoded system of the country. He has said that he wants a real revolution to usher in the country without bothering about the name or the flag. “As the programme presented by Dr Qadri is the same for which Mr Hussain has been relentlessly struggling for the past 33 years, hence the MQM has decided to extend full support for this noble cause. We are with Dr Qadri for achieving these objectives.”
“People of Pakistan are well aware that Mr Hussain wants to establish a truly democratic system in the country. He wishes to establish a middle class order by eliminating the feudal system, unrestrained capitalism, and the hereditary control of a handful of families on the politics.”
“The MQM did not raise the mere slogan of the middle class order. It actually sent the educated and qualified people from the poor and middle classes to the assemblies and brought a revolution as far as the urban areas of Sindh are concerned.”
“We wanted to spread this revolution throughout the country but our path was obstructed by state repression. Thousands of the MQM workers were mercilessly killed. Even the brother and nephew of Mr Hussain were martyred when he refused to bow down. We were not disappointed by these injustices and continued our struggle.”
“It is the outcome of our struggle that the message of the MQM is spreading at a quick pace in the Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and tribal areas of the country. There is no area in the country where the admirers of Altaf Hussain are not present.”
“We firmly believe that one day our struggle will be successful and the outdated political system will be changed.”
Other members of the Co-ordination Committee present at the briefing included Saleem Shahzad, Waseem Aftab, Wasay Jalil and Gulfaraz Khan Khattak.

Communication & Media Cell: Certain Powers Want To Erode The Mandate Of The MQM: Allama Tahir Ashrafi
We want relations and feelings of love to grow: Senator Mrs Nasrin Jalil
Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Allama Tahir Ashrafi has said that certain powers want to create a law and order situation in Karachi and erode the mandate of the MQM one way or another. “I say to these forces to adopt the path of dialogues as the country needs love and not hatred.”He said this while talking to the journalists at MQM Head Office Nine Zero after meeting with the Co-ordination Committee.
Hailing the statement of Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM, regarding the establishing of the system of the Pious Caliphs in Pakistan, Allama Ashrafi said that the MQM and the Ulema Council would make concerted effort for the just and equitable system in the country. Referring to the discussion of Mr Hussain with Dr Tahirul Qadri on this subject, Allama Ashrafi said, “We would go with Altaf Hussain with whomsoever he would go for attaining this objective.”

He said, “The MQM is a reality and those who seek to avoid reality are bereft of knowledge and wisdom. Those spewing hatred will have to face defeat and the feelings of love would grow.”
“Altaf Hussain has talked about the establishing of the system of Pious Caliphs in the country only after sending poor people to the assemblies. I ask him to start the struggle for this cause and we would support as his soldiers. Every madrasa or religious organization that does not have any political ambition wants the just system of the Pious Caliphs in the country. This is the only system that can give justice to the poor.”
Allama Ashrafi said, “Allah has bestowed religious knowledge to Altaf Hussain besides giving him political sagacity. We will work together for establishing a just and equitable system in Pakistan.”
Speaking about the law and order situation in Karachi, Allama Ashrafi said, “Peace cannot be established in Karachi by ignoring the MQM and the followers of the Sunni and the Shia schools thought. Those who think that peace can be restored in Karachi by keeping out these forces are only playing with the sentiments of the people.”
He warned that these were the same people who wanted to weaken the MQM and destroy Karachi. He asserted that if any harm came to Karachi then the existence of Pakistan would also be threatened.
He said that the poor people would have to be empowered in Pakistan by ending the rule of the privileged class. The feudal system must be wrapped up and justice should be done to the poor. “Together we will create a Pakistan of the poor people.”
Earlier when Allama Tahir Ashrafi arrived at Nine Zero, he was warmly welcomed by the Co-ordination Committee and a large number of the MQM workers. Deputy Conveners Mr Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani and Senator Mrs Nasrin Jalil were present in the meeting held in the Nine Zero.

Communication & Media Cell:Telephonic Conversation Between Altaf Hussain And Dr Tahirul Qadri.
Both leaders agree on mutual co-operation for changing the system in the country and eliminating the decaying feudal system
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has had a telephonic conversation with the head of the Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran Prof Dr Tahirul Qadri. Both agreed on extending mutual co-operation and discussion for changing the decaying system and eliminating the archaic feudal system and corruption from the country. Mr Hussain welcomed the arrival of Dr Qadri in the country and expressed best wishes for him.
Mr Hussain said, “We want to bring a system based upon justice in which no one is considered above the laws as was present during the days of the Pious Caliphs. When the son of Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) acted against the canons of Islam and the judge passed a sentence 80 lashes, Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) had ordered that the sentence should be implemented without delay. When his son died during the execution of the sentence, Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said that the remaining lashes should be inflicted upon the grave.”
Mr Hussain said, “The last of the Pious Caliphs Hazrat Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) had also said that a country can be run with disbelief, but it cannot be run with injustice and oppression.”
Mr Hussain said that he would support Dr Qadri if he wants to bring the same just system in Pakistan, and if he is working for bringing an end to the rotten feudal system from the country. “I also want to make Pakistan a welfare country where everyone has justice and there is no oppression. I also want to bring a revolution of the people belonging to the poor and middle classes and rid the country of looters and plunderers.”
Dr Qadri said that the views of Mr Hussain for changing the system of the country were similar to his own views. “Time has come to make a new Pakistan according to the true spirit of the struggle for independence of the country. Justice should be established, and every sacrifice should be made for the welfare of the country.”
Dr Qadri thanked Mr Hussain for his support and appealed to all those people who want to struggle for justice to attend the jalsa on 23rd December in Lahore.
Mr Hussain also appealed to his followers to take part in the jalsa and increase the pace of the struggle for revolution.

Communication & Media Cell: Kashmir Dispute Should Be Resolved According To The Aspirations Of The Kashmiri People: Altaf Hussain
We are confident that the Kashmir dispute would be resolved according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. He said that the Kashmiri people should also be represented in all the dialogues for finding a solution of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the MQM would co-operate unconditionally with the Kashmiri people. He was talking to the Chairman of the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq during his visit to Nine Zero today.
Talking to Mr Farooq, he said that the people of Kashmir must get united for their rights. He said that unity and consensus leadership were the basic ingredients for the success of any movement when the opponent is powerful and has access to unlimited resources. “It is unfortunate that the power of the Kashmiri people is being divided. I would humbly request you to become one force, which would enable you to present the case of Kashmir at the international forums in a better way.”
Mr Hussain said, “If the MQM comes in power it would solve the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Whether they would want to live with Pakistan or as an independent country, it would be entire up to the Kashmiri people.”
Mr Hussain said that without including the Kashmiri all the dialogues for finding a solution, whether held in India or Pakistan, would be meaningless. He urged on the United Nations to ensure the participation of the Kashmiri people in all the dialogues for resolving the Kashmir dispute.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Farooq thanked Mr Hussain for the warm welcome at Nine Zero. He said, “The purpose of our visit to Pakistan is to bridge the relations between the two countries. Positive progress should be made for solving the Kashmir dispute along with restoration in bus service, improvement in trade relations and other things.”
Mr Farooq agreed with the views of Mr Hussain for finding a solution of the Kashmir dispute with dialogues. “The people of Kashmir also want the violence to end. General Elections are going to be held in Pakistan soon, and it is our desire that all political parties include the Kashmir dispute in their manifestoes.”
He said, “We also agree to your suggestion for infusing unity among various Kashmiri parties. I would also like to meet you when I arrive in London in order to know your thoughts, understand your feelings, and benefit from your experience.”
Mr Farooq said that the forceful manner in which the MQM has raised the Kashmir dispute at international forums would help in solving the dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Mr Hussain directed the Co-ordination Committee to include in the MQM’s manifesto all the demands suggested by the Kashmiri representatives for finding a solution of the Kashmir dispute.

Communication & Media Cell: Prejudicial Remarks Of The Judge Of Supreme Court Point To A Conspiracy To Break The Mandate Of The MQM: Altaf Hussain
Addressing a mammoth gathering in Jinnah Ground in Azizabad, the Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has warned against imposing judicial martial law in the country. He said that the MQM cannot be eliminated through state operation or conspiracies.
“The remarks of the honourable judge of the Supreme Court about fresh delimitation of electoral constituencies in Karachi so that no party has a monopoly are an affront to 20 million people of Karachi.”
Mr Hussain asked the audience to raise their hands if they rejected the prejudicial remarks of the judge of the Supreme Court. The crowd rose their hands in unison said that they rejected the remarks.
Mr Hussain said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry must take suo motu notice of the remarks of said judge as the right to give majority to any political party to take back the mandate rests with the people and not with any judge.”
“I want to make it clear that the people of the country would not allow anyone to rob their democratic right. The remarks of the honourable judge of the Supreme Court are discriminatory, prejudicial, malicious and in contravention of the law and constitution of the country.”
“The premise that the law and order situation in Karachi would improve by making fresh delimitation of constituencies is misleading. Law and order and electoral constituencies are two completely different things.”
“Election issues should better be left to the Election Commission of Pakistan as it was their domain and do not fall within the purview of any court. Undue interference in the work of the Election Commission would compound the problem even more even if it is done with the best of intentions.”
“The Delimitation Act of 1974 makes census as the basic requirement for new delimitations. The Supreme Court has ordered for carrying out new delimitations of constituencies in Karachi alone without holding census which is totally against Section 9 of the Delimitation Act of 1974.”
“The Delimitation Act does not speak about monopoly of any political party. The word monopoly is not present in any clause of the act. How far is it justified to term the popular support and mandate of any political party as monopoly?”
“No court has the right to direct the Election Commission to change electoral constituencies in way that no party has a monopoly. It is the inalienable right of the people to give their mandate to the party of their choice. No one can deprive people of their basic right.”
“Will the judges decide as to which party has majority in a particular constituency. Different political parties have majority support in different cities of the country. If the observation of the Supreme Court is valid in the case of Karachi, why such observation was not made for the rest of the country?”
“The remarks about new delimitations in Karachi point to a conspiracy to break the popular mandate of the MQM. The people of Karachi reject the highly prejudicial remarks.”
Referring to the judgment of the Lahore High Court on Kala Bagh Dam, Mr Hussain asked if the courts would decide about the construction of dams. “The people of Sindh have rejected Kala Bagh Dam and hence the LHC must take back its order.”

Communication & Media Cell: Order For Fresh Delimitation Of Constituencies In Karachi Alone Is Undemocratic: MQM
Remarks of the judge of the Supreme Court are outright affront of the mandate of the people of Karachi
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has urged President Asif Zardari, the Federal Government, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftakhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other impartial judges of the Supreme Court to take notice of the observation made by a judge of the bench hearing Karachi Lawlessness case that delimitation of constituencies in Karachi should be done in a manner that no single party has a monopoly. It expressed concerns on the remarks of the judge of the Supreme Court and termed it unconstitutional, undemocratic, prejudicial and outright affront to the mandate given by the people of Karachi.
The Co-ordination Committee declared that equating the majority of a political party, obtained through democratic means, with a monopoly is not only unconstitutional but also smacks of prejudice dictatorial attitude. Free and fair elections give people the right to give their mandate to the party of their choice in their constituency. One political party or another commands the popular support of the majority of the people across different cities of Pakistan. If the remarks made by a certain member of the bench are valid and justified in the case of Karachi, why a similar approach is not adopted for the rest of the country so that no political party has a majority and monopoly in any city.
The Co-ordination Committee said that delimitations of electoral constituencies are done throughout the world after holding census, and the same should happen in Pakistan. The observation of the bench on the delimitation of constituencies in Karachi would deepen the sense of alienation among the people of Karachi. The Co-ordination Committee said that if lawlessness in Karachi is a justification for the observation of the court, then the situation in Balochistan is worse than Karachi, where even the national flag of Pakistan cannot be raised.
The entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is also in the grip of an unending wave of terrorism and where suicide attacks and bomb blasts have become commonplace occurrence. Schools, mosques, imambargahs, shrines, other places of worships, check posts of police and other law-enforcing agencies and government buildings are being blown there, but no such remarks are forthcoming there. It asked why such prejudicial remarks have been given regarding Karachi alone.

Communication & Media Cell: Attacks On Gaza Are Acts Of Blatant Aggression: Altaf Hussain
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and US President Barack Obama should use their influence to stop the Israeli aggression else the world may slide into a third world war
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza and other Palestinian cities and termed it as blatant aggression. He has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of many innocent Palestinian people in the attacks and urged on Secretary General of the UN
Mr Ban Ki-moon and the US President Mr Barack Obama to use their influence to stop the Israeli aggression or the world may slide into a third world war.Addressing the people of Pakistan in a state of deep grief Mr Hussain said, “I was sorely grieved on the brutal killings of innocent Shia and Sunni people in the country as a result of conspiracies of some elements and the cold-blooded killings of police, FC and armed forces personnel. Now this heart-rending news of unwarranted attacks with planes, missiles and other weapons by the Zionist Israel on Gaza and other Palestinian cities resulting in the martyrdom of many innocent people has greatly disturbed me.
”“While the bodies of the people martyred in the Israeli attacks are lying drenched in blood, the injured people including children, elderly, men and women are being shifted to the hospital in a painful condition. My heart bleeds at these harrowing scenes which are very distressing and unsettling for anyone from any nation and religion and believing in humanity.”Mr Hussain appealed to the Government of Pakistan, particularly the president, the prime minister and heads of the armed forces to convene a conference of the heads of the Muslim states in Pakistan in order to deliberate on the issue of the Israeli aggression. He said that this time all the Islamic countries should take a unanimous decision that they would not tolerate the Israeli aggression this time.
If the aggression did not stop, a second meeting should be called within a few days and it should be announced that everyone in the Muslim countries would march against Israel without caring about the consequences and Israeli tanks and weapons would be silenced once and for all.Mr Hussain urged on the Secretary General of the UN Mr Ban Ki-Moon and President of the United States Mr Barack Obama to use their influence in stopping the Israeli aggression as it may suck the world into a third world war.Mr Hussain sympathized with the innocent families of the people martyred and injured in the Israeli attacks and expressed complete solidarity with helpless Palestinian people. Addressing his well-wishers Mr Hussain said that he had spent 35 long years of his life fighting for the larger cause of truth and justice without caring about human desires.“I am greatly disturbed on seeing this gross injustice. If I die or someone kills me because of my statement in support of truth and justice, I would appeal to all my well-wishers to continue working for truth according to their strength and not to waver from offering any sacrifice including their lives. It is my humble appeal and not any order.”

Address at the base camps in Hyderabad and Sukkur set up for collecting hides of sacrificial animals under the KKF
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the purpose of the MQM’s politics is not merely to attain to political power, but serving the humanity. “Serving the people is our politics and our politics centres around serving the people and this has always been our prime objective and guiding principle.” He said this while addressing large gatherings of MQM office-bearers workers in the base camps in Hyderabad and Sukkur set up for collecting hides of sacrificial animals under Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation.
Mr Hussain said, “We have been serving poor and destitute people, irrespective of the prejudices of race, colour, language and religion, ever since we started our struggle. The scope of our relief activities is constantly increasing and our commitment to serve the needy has been endorsed by the people in the form of unprecedented donations of hides of sacrificial animals to our welfare organization this year.”
Mr Hussain said it was a matter of happiness for everyone that the KKF had received hides throughout Pakistan besides the cities and towns of Sindh, and all past records had been broken. He paid glowing tributes to the workers and said that the history they were writing with their selfless struggle would be a source of inspiration for the oppressed and disadvantaged people of the world.
Mr Hussain announced that the operations of the KKF would be widened in the coming days, and 100 additional ambulances would be provided at the KKF ambulance centres in different parts of the country soon. He also announced that ambulance centres would be established in more cities in the future.
Mr Hussain said that a dialysis centre would be built in Hyderabad for treating kidney diseases. If the charitable people contributed for the purchase of machinery, a hospital for heart diseases could also be established in order to facilitate the people of Hyderabad and Interior Sindh. He announced two million rupees for building an IT institute in Hyderabad.

Mr Hussain praised the workers of Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad and other zones adjoining Sukkur for collecting hides of sacrificial animals in a large number in spite of difficult circumstances.
Addressing different communities of Sukkur, he said, “We had been weakening our strength by remaining divided on the lines of caste and communities and hence hurting the common interests of the people. It is the need of the hour for the various communities living in Sukkur to get firmly united and tell the world that they cannot be separated from the MQM.”
Mr Hussain said that conspiracies were being hatched to divide the people, but the MQM would frustrate these conspiracies. He said that exploitative forced had tried to draw a wedge between Sindhis and Mohajirs but the people disappointed them, and they have decided that they would not fight with one another.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM had held the largest public meeting of the Pakhtun people in the history of Karachi and now the plots to set Pakhtun and Mohajirs against each other have died down. People belonging to different nationalities and hailing from different social backgrounds are being attracted towards the MQM in large numbers.

Communication & Media Cell: Business Community Should Make Arrangements For Self-Protection: Altaf Hussain
Judicial system should be imposed in the country instead of wasting money if the parliament does not have the right to legislate
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has asked the business community inKarachito make arrangements for protecting themselves from the extortion mafia. He assured them that the MQM would stand by them and support them. He asked the Co-ordination Committee to work with the business community and form a forum for their protection.
Mr Hussain said that the circumstances in the country were critical. “Mr Rehman Malik says that the situation is normal about and I have always differed with him. People are becoming increasingly restive.”
“If legislation is not the business of the parliament then perhaps the parliamentary system should be wound up altogether. If the parliament has not right to legislate then the judicial system should be imposed in the country instead of wasting millions of rupees on the parliament.”
“I have talked to the Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of the ISI on the issue of law and order situation inKarachi.”
“When I had asked the people to buy licensed weapons for self-protection by selling TV and fridge I was ridiculed and reviled. I ask them today if it was wrong to talk about getting licensed weapons for self-protection.”
“When the agencies responsible for maintaining the law and order fail to deliver, how many people can shift their businesses toMalaysia,Singapore,Bangladesh,Dubaiand otherMiddle Eastcountries? The time to think has come.”
“The only way left to eliminate extortion from the city was taking the problem by horn. How can I trust the Army, the Rangers and the Police when my people are being killed and kidnapped? They are left with no money to give to the extortion mafia inKarachi. Their businesses are already suffering because of prolong load-shedding of electricity and natural gas. If the wheel of economy of a country comes to stop, it cannot be defended.”
“If the agencies responsible for maintaining law and order situation in the country will continue to take the law-breakers and move with them openly, it will foment terrorism. I ask the members of the business community to do something if they have to do business inKarachi. They should get arms licenses even if they have to go to any extent for it.”
“MQM does not want the division of Sindh province and I have repeated this on a number of occasions in my speeches. But have not the slogans for division of Sindh been raised by the nationalist forces in Sindh. The nationalist forces in Sindh must stop spewing venom otherwise I will not be able to stop people.”
“No one is an enemy ofPakistan. If you kill people in broad daylight in Sher Shah market and then don’t expect that they would raise the slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. It is the government, the defence agencies and other powers that produce enemies of the country.”
“In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan the MQM workers who were subjected to inhuman torture were forced to swallow urine. How can you expect the people to remain loyal when you will resort to such abhorrent acts?”
“The business community is being relentlessly targeted by the extortion mafia but they have not been arrested so far. The inaction on the part of the government against the extortion mafia is destroying the economy of the country. The extremist elements are killing soldiers in the name of the religion. We should stand up and defendPakistanand get rid of the elements working against the country.”
“Pakistanwas obtained after immense sacrifices. It was not achieved easily. Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah should work for removing the differences between the permanent residents of Sindh. We do not want to breakPakistanor divide Sindh but the country was broken because of international intrigues in 1971. If we do not mend our ways, the remainingPakistanmay also be defaced from the map of the world.”
“The wounds of the Baloch people would have to be healed if they have to be pulled back inPakistan. Calling them enemies would not bring Balochistan back toPakistan. If innocent people will be picked up in broad day light and their bodies dumped the situation will not improve. The Supreme Court should have taken notice and taken action against the director of the FC allegedly involved in the killings of innocent people in Balochistan.”

Communication & Media Cell: MQM Coordination Committee Asks KESC To End Enmity With KKarachiites
MQM Coordination Committee asks KESC
to end enmity with KKarachiites
Karachi, 3rd Aug:
Condemning the unannounced prolonged load-shedding in the city, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee said here on Friday that exorbitant billing and an increase in Fuel Adjustment Charges (FAC) amounted to absolute `injustices’ and `excesses’ on the part of Karachi Electricity Supply Company `prejudiced’ management.
The Coordination Committee demanded of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Ashraf Pervez, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, to withdraw the notification whereby National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity tariff under the head of Fuel Adjustment Charges (FAC) by Rs1.60 paisa per unit.
In a hard-hitting statement issued on Friday, the Coordination Committee said that the KESC despite resorting to prolonged load-shedding has been issuing excessive billing to its consumers while the NEPRA has increased electricity tariff under the head of FAC by Rs1.60 per unit.
Lashing out at the power utility, the Coordination Committee said that “the prejudiced management of KESC must bring halt to its enmity with the Karachiites.”
The Committee also urged the people at the helm of affairs to direct KESC’s `prejudiced’ management to bring an end to its enmity with Karachiites by ensuring that the citizens might not suffer load-shedding during Sehr and Iftar, besides the trend of issuing excessive billing must stop.
Elaborating, the Coordination Committee said that although Karachi being the hub of economic activities had been contributing 70 per cent to the national exchequer, the KESC by resorting to prolonged load-shedding in the city has, on the one hand, badly crippled the business activities and, on the other, made the citizens lives miserable in the Holy month of Ramadan.
The Committee said that the KESC consumers despite paying regular electricity bills were being issued excessive and over and above their actual meter reading whereas the NEPRA by increasing electricity tariff under the head of FAC has been putting additional financial burden on the citizens.

The criminals were not only abducting the business persons for demanding huge amount of ransom money but also attacking the houses of the traders with hand grenades if they refuse to pay extortion money.
Mr Hussain said that the present government had also failed miserably in taking action against the criminals who were playing with the lives of business persons and common citizens. Mr Hussain warned the people at the helm of affairs that if the powerful institution and personalities did not stop from supporting the criminals involved in collecting extortion and kidnapping for ransom in Karachi, he would disclose their names to the nation.

Communication & Media Cell: Can Have A Bright Future If Nepotism, Corruption And Bribery Are Eliminated: Altaf Hussain
Pakistan can have a bright future if nepotism, corruption,
and bribery are eliminated: Altaf Hussain
Government departments are in a state of decline because the merit system has ceased to exist
London: 26th July 2012
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that Pakistan can progress and become a country having a bright future if nepotism, dishonesty, corruption, loot, bribery and cheating are eliminated. He said this while talking to Mr Mustafa Azizabadi and Mr Muhammad Ashfaq, in-charge and joint in-charge respectively of the International Secretariat of the MQM in London.
Mr Hussain congratulated Mr Azizabadi and Mr Ashfaq on their new responsibilities and advised them to take decisions purely on merit and not on nepotism, friendship, and personal likes and dislikes. He asked them to follow the party discipline and principles.
Mr Hussain regretted that the system of merit had ceased to exist in Pakistan and appointments in government departments were being done on the basis of nepotism and personal likes and dislikes. It was because of this that all government institutions and departments were in a state of decline.
Mr Hussain asserted that the future of the country could brighten only if the malaises of nepotism, corruption, cheating and loot were eliminated and judiciary was made independent and kept away from personal likes and dislikes.
Mr Hussain said that it was equally necessary for the future of the country that the decisions of the parliament were motivated by general public welfare instead of protecting the interests of the majority part in the parliament. The majority party should keep the national interest above the party interest and it should work for the betterment of the people of Pakistan.
Mr Husain advised the office-bearers of the International Secretariat the MQM to convey to the Co-ordination Committee, elected representatives and elected representatives of the MQM to create awareness among the masses as to how the country could make advancement.
Mr Hussain said that it was because of truthfulness and honesty that the message of the MQM was spreading throughout the country. People have come to know that the party tickets at the time of elections are given in the MQM purely on merit. The Co-ordination Committee the final decision after interviewing the names recommended by units and sectors. Family relations are never considered while awarding party tickets.

Communication & Media Cell: Security And Integrity Of Pakistan Is Under Threat: Altaf Hussain
Round Table Conference should be convened for taking concrete decisions Lecture in the International Secretariat, London:
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the security, sovereignty and integrity of the country is under threat. He said that it is highly regrettable that instead of thinking about the survival of the country, the politicians were busy in power politics and not thinking about the country. He said this while giving a lecture in the International Secretariat of the MQM in London.Mr Hussain spoke at length about the effects of the geopolitical situation of Pakistan on its national security, the looming threats on the borders, relations with the neighboring countries and the internal and external challenges being faced by the country. Members of the Co-ordination Committee, elected representatives and members of the International Secretariat of the MQM were present on the occasion. He also answered the questions asked by the participants.
Mr Hussain said that Pakistan carried significant importance in the south Asian region during the era of cold war between the United States and the USSR. This was because India and China were considered big powers in region and they were inclined towards the Soviet Russia. Likewise Afghanistan was also friendly towards Russia and tilted towards India. Iran was being ruled by the Emperor who had a leaning towards United States. At that time, the policy-making institutions of Pakistan decided to support the United States and Pakistan emerged as a big allied country of the United States in the region.
In the ensuing cold war between Russia and United States our policy-making institutions largely concentrated on defeating Russia for pleasing the United States in return for dollars instead of taking decisions having far-reaching consequences for the country. They acted in a manner as if it was a war between Pakistan and Russian. They formed militant organizations and trained and supported them.
The consequences of the horrible decisions taken by former rulers, senior bureaucrats, army and other policy-making institutions are affecting Pakistan even today. The militant organizations formed during that time have turned into Frankenstein monsters and have turned against our own army officers and men.
Mr Hussain said that the US Congress and Senate has recently declared a militant organization as a terrorist organization and has demanded action against it from Pakistan. He said that Pakistan could also be declared a terrorist country if any leader of this militant organization is found involved in any negative activity outside Pakistan. This would not be a good omen for Pakistan if it comes true.
Mr Hussain regretted that the Pakistani politicians, intellectuals, anchor persons and columnist were not informing the public the real facts about the critical condition facing the country. Politicians aspiring to become president, prime minister or chief minister would never speak with such courage about the national security and integrity.
Mr Hussain said that it has been published in all the international newspapers and magazines that a number of US fleets that are equipped with latest missiles and batteries have reached near the Pakistani waters in the Arabian Sea but no one paid any attention. Citing defenceanalyses published in international magazines Mr Hussain said that in future war in the region would start from Afghanistan. Afghanistan, where the NATO forces are already present, would attack Pakistan.
Mr Hussain said that it is necessary to strengthen the country from within in order to save Pakistan and meeting the future challenge. He called for ending the confrontation between government, judiciary, defence institutions and the opposition. He said that a round table conference should be convened in which all the stakeholders including military leadership, religious and political leaders and intellectuals should be invited and concrete decisions should be taken in view of the prevailing circumstances.
Mr Hussain said that Pakistan is facing internal threats besides external aggression. The economy of the country is critical and the country is being run by printing currency. The law and order situation of the country is also precarious. There is the load-shedding of electricity and natural gas that has made the life of common people miserable. There is unemployment and poverty. He said that in the prevailing circumstances it is highly inappropriate on the part of politicians to pull each other’s legs.
Mr Hussain said that the present situation of the country is a point to ponder for every Pakistani for rising above party affiliations and thinking about the security, integrity and betterment of the country.
Answering the questions of the participants Mr Hussain said that Pakistan should establish friendly relations with all the neighbouring countries including India. He said that India should also play a positive role for bringing peace in the region.
Speaking about Balochistan he said that the rights of the Baloch people would have to be given for solving the Balochistan question. He said that if the security of the country could be guaranteed by accepting their tough conditions, it should be done.
Mr Hussain said that sectarianism is making a dent in our unity and it is the main cause of unrest. A nation that is divided in sects cannot stand against any enemy hence the Pakistani nation should exhibit unity instead of getting divided in sects.
Mr Hussain advised the MQM leaders, elected representatives and office-bearers to create awareness among Pakistani people and inform them about the difficult circumstances facing the country. He prayed Almighty Allah to bring Pakistan out of internal and external threats.

Communication & Media Cell: No One Can Stop The Advent Of A Revolution In Pakistan: Dr Farooq Sattar
Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the advent of a revolution in Pakistan cannot be stopped. Change in the country is the need of the hour but the change should be on permanent basis.
He was addressing a large public gathering in Jahaniyan in southern Punjab. A large number of people living in Jahaniyan and the adjoining areas had come to attend the MQM public meeting. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Wasay Jalil, Mr Aftakhar Akbar Randhawa, In-charge MQM Multan Zone Mr Khalid Jawed and other local officials were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sattar said that the rulers belonging to the feudal class had not been able to solve problems being faced by the people for the past 65 years. It was the need of the hour to decide if Pakistan has to be saved or allowed to fall apart at the hands of the feudal elements.
Speaking about the issue of southern Punjab province he stated that none of the assembly member from the area had submitted resolution in the parliament for the creation of the southern Punjab province. He said that the creation of the new province was necessary and the legitimate rights of the people of south Punjab will have to be given.
He told the farmers and peasants that they would not get adequate water, seed and fertilizer unless they send their own representatives in the assemblies. He said that the rulers were exploiting the farmers in the name of fuel price adjustment.
Referring to the situation in Karachi Dr Sattar said that innocent people were being gunned down for refusing to pay extortion money. He declared that it is an artificial situation and a conspiracy not only against Karachi but the entire country.
Member of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Aftakhar Akbar Randhawa also spoke addressed the gathering.

Communication & Media Cell: Is Working For Interfaith Harmony And Social Development: Altaf Hussain
Investment by Scottish companies in Sindh will augur well for the province
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that the MQM has always strived for stability of democracy, political and interfaith harmony, and social development. The MQM believes in the principle of “live and let live” and considers all the people living in Pakistan belonging to various religions as equal citizens of Pakistan. He said this while talking to the visiting members of the Co-ordination Committee and ministers in the International Secretariat in London.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mr Babar Khan Ghouri, provincial ministers Mr Raza Haroon, Mr Shoaib Bukhari, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Mr Adil Siddiqui, members of the Co-ordination Committee in London Mr Tariq Mir, Mr Muhammad Anwer, Mr Anis Ahmed Advocate, Mr Tariq Jawed, Mr Salim Shahzad, Mr Mustafa Azizabadi, Mr Muhammad Ashfaq, and Mr Qasim Ali Raza were present on the occasion.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM has always stood for and given the message of showing respect to all religions and faiths and their places of worship. The MQM has also done everything possible for their protection. Whenever there was any incident harming the places of worships of the non-Muslims the MQM came forward and gave them a sense of protection.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM wants that the term “minority” should not be used for the non-Muslims and they should be considered as equal Pakistanis and given equal opportunities in every sphere of life.

Communication & Media Cell: Finds Support Among Pakhtuns : By Manzoor Ali The Frontier Post
Good Morning by Manzoor AliA few days ago, MQM was able to arrange a substantially attended gathering of Pukhtuns at a public meeting in Karachi. It surprised many, for with so much blame of killings of the Pashto speaking people put on the shoulders of Altaf Hussein's party, one would have thought that this party had no support among this ethnic group in Karachi. After the sizeable gathering, for one thing, it will now not be said with conviction that MQM does not enjoy the support of a segment of the people coming to Karachi from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a way MQM has proved that it has not been just boasting of support of the people of diverse ethnicities; it has the support. In many, many ways it is a good omen, for as the support of people of various cultural backgrounds for MQM or any other party becomes visible so would vanish the fault lines in the melting pot of Karachi. The gathering of Pakhtuns under the banner of MQM has given a positive impression of the party in the rest of the country too. Now,
MQM's claim that it is not just a party of the Urdu speaking people sounds more plausible. Frankly speaking, the MQM still has a long way to go in this direction. It has to show the people of many ethnicities visible at higher and lower levels of its party structure. It is necessary that while Pakhtuns, Punjabis, Sindhis, Balochis, Chitrali's, Brohis etc in Karachi and Hyberabad unhesitatingly approach MQM for solutions of their problems and develop greater confidence in the party, the rest of Pakistan will only know and get a positive impression if they see some of their own ethnicities pleading the cause of MQM in the media.
This brings us to the ANP setup in Karachi. In spite of its claims of working for the causes of all the people in Pakistan and being an inclusive society, this party has up till now not shown any one person other than Pashto speaking in its folds, except of course an office holder in Punjab who is never seen or heard of on issues facing the country or the party. So while MQM has chosen to open up and be inclusive, ANP, it seems, regardless of its rhetoric is still a party whose gates are wide open for the Pushto speaking, have not even a door ajar for people of other ethnicities.
The policy of inclusion that MQM has chosen will make this party more secure and popular, for in democracies a tight well-knit core may be necessary for a party but success comes when a greater number of people vote for it. ANP should also try to remove the impression of being the party of just Pakhtuns. It should strive to bring other people in the party. It used to be that MQM would brag about having followers in many cities in Pakistan, but these used to be the migrants from India who had settled in these cities, Now, people believe that this party has increasing members from groups whose forefathers and fathers did not come from India.
This is a good sign for MQM as well as Pakistan. Hopefully, this party will also organise more public meetings exclusively for people settling in Karachi from many other parts of the country. goodmorningfp@yahoo.com

He said this while welcoming the newly elected prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf at Nine Zero. The prime minister was accompanied by Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Advisor on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik. Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar along with other members, MNAs, MPAs, office-bearers and workers of different wings of the MQM, including women were present on the occasion.
Mr Hussain said that Prime Minister Ashraf belonged to the middle class, and it was for the first time that someone from middle class had attained this position in the country. He hoped that his inauguration as the prime minister would augur well for the country and for the people.
Mr Hussain praised President Asif Zardari for his courage and unwavering resolve. He showed patience on the disqualification of Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani, removal of Mr Hussain Haqqani as ambassador to the US, and disqualification of Ms Farah Naz Ispahani, and Rehman Malik from their seats in the parliaments. He said that he had also shown patience on all this.
Mr Hussain asked the opposition parties to wait for the elections and let the democracy function in the country. He said that gradually the public would play a positive role in electing good and sincere representatives. They would purge looters and plunderers and support honest people in elections, but this would be possible only if the democracy was given a chance to work.
Drawing attention towards the presence of the US fleet in the Pakistani limits Mr Hussain asked everyone to take heed. It was time for unity and solidarity instead of fighting with each other.
Mr Hussain said that it was the democratic right of the opposition to make protests but confrontation must be avoided at all cost. He said that the business community, working-class people and the general public were sorely disturbed by the energy crisis in the country. They also have a right to protest, but they must desist from destroying the public property.

He said that the holders of the dual nationalities were playing the role of the backbone in the economy of the country. If the backbone was damaged, the entire body would become paralyzed.

Referring to the steep rise in demand of extortion money in Karachi Mr Hussain asked the prime minister to take effective steps for curbing this menace and for providing security to the business persons.
Mr Hussain drew the attention of the prime minister on the gross injustices being done to the helpless women in Pakistan. He said that barbaric customs of karo-kari, honour-killing, throwing of acid on women must be stopped. He said that legislation should be done to give protection to the women and exemplary punishment should be given to those who subject women to various types of atrocities.

He said that it was a matter of great joy that a middle-class person had become the prime minister of Pakistan. He added that the country needed such leadership from the poor and middle classes.
Mr Hussain said that he was the son of the Sindh, and he did not want the division of Sindh.
